A well reputed and established Kundu Family in Kolkata (Salt Lake City) headed by Sri. Guru Prakash Kundu, an organizer of different social-welfare activities along with his professional ethics, would have had a dream to establish educational institutions/organizations on different fields for the benefit of the society especially in rural areas, which inspired him to make a Trust in the year of 2012 naming ‘Bishnupriya Memorial Trust’ for bearing the memory of late Bishnupriya Devi (Smt. Bishnupriya Kundu) to the present and future generations of the society who was the grandmother of Sri Guru Prakash Kundu and guide of Kundu family.
As the first footing of the effort, Bishnupriya College of Education was established on the 1st October 2012 and became functioning from the 1st July 2014 with an intake of 100 students per year for B.Ed. course obtaining its recognition from Eastern Regional Committee (ERC), National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bhubaneswar and affiliated to the West Bengal State University, Barasat (WBSU). The College has also been affiliated to the West Bengal University of Teachers’ Training, Education, Planning and Administration (WBUTTEPA) w.e.from 1st July 2016 as per the rules and regulation of the Govt. of West Bengal.
The College has also started its D.El.Ed. Course with an intake of 100 students after obtaining its recognition from Eastern Regional Committee (ERC), National Council for Teacher Education(NCTE) and has been affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) w.e.from 1st July 2018 as per the rules and regulation of the Govt. of West Bengal.
From the very day of its inception, the College has been functioning properly maintaining well balance within all the factors to achieve its mission for making the College as a center of excellence in our country, India.
